The Central Indiana STEM Talent Expansion Program at IUPUI, funded by the NSF, is creating a central Indiana pipeline and a university culture change to increase the number of IUPUI students obtaining STEM degrees. Our project addresses initiatives needed for transforming undergraduate STEM education by propagating, expanding, and creating new research-based educational innovations in undergraduate STEM education at IUPUI.
CI-STEP has taken an active role in facilitating success in all STEM students at IUPUI. Through the development of initiatives such as STEM Summer Bridge and Honors Seminar, the students remain engaged in their own success!Link
CI-STEP is dedicated to the success of IUPUI students beyond the university; through services such as the School of Science Career Development center and programs such as new and exciting internship opportunities.
The community college population is a pool of students that need to stay in the pipeline to a bachelor’s degree. By partnering with these local colleges, IUPUI and the students benefit by gaining a STEM college graduate.Link
This category is of strong focus for CI-STEP as it pertains to the sustainability of progressive and powerful pedogological change at IUPUI. A new mini-grant fund for faculty and staff has been created at IUPUI to aid in increasing STEM graduates.Link
Assessment Institute coming to Indy!
The Assessment Institute in Indianapolis, October 27-29, 2013, is the nation’s oldest and largest event focused exclusively on outcomes assessment in higher education. This year the Institute is hosting a special STEM Education track, please plan to join us.| More
